Painting & Drawing

Drawing, being the most direct of all visual art techniques, forms the core of the studio program. Regardless of skill, experience or ability, drawing offers limitless scope for personalised expressive mark-making through abstract or representational form.

Artists can employ a range of drawing materials, either singly, or in combination to explore their visual ideas and to enhance their mode of working.

Some artists also enjoy using a variety of painting materials such as watercolour, gouache, acrylic and inks to create original works on paper and canvas.

The richness and diversity offered by painting and drawing offers artists a solid foundation for their artistic development and also underpins their practice in other media offered in the studio.
