Bad Boys and Superheroes

8 March 2007 - 14 April 2007

Venue: Arts Project Australia
Opening: 7 March 2007

Arts Project Australia is pleased to present "Bad Boys and Superheroes". Curated by Adam Lee, this exhibition brings together a small selection of Arts Project Australia artists whose work draws upon aspects of popular culture in order to explore themes of 'good versus evil'.

By referring to popular films, television shows and comic books, these artists explore ideas related to our perception of the superhero, referring to those we idolize as upholding justice and the villain being those outlawed and perceived as monsters.

"Bad Boys and Superheroes" also reflects the light-hearted adoration we all hold toward our favourite heroes and villains and explores the ways in which popular culture can inform contemporary art practice.

Curator(s): Adam Lee
Artist(s): Leo Cussen, Kelvin Heffernan, Timothy Williams and Tim Noble.
