connected 06

13 May 2006 - 21 May 2006

Venue: The Atrium, Federation Square
Opening: 13 May 2006

Arts Project Australia in partnership with State Trustees, is presenting connected 06 - an inspiring collection of 67 contemporary artworks addressing a diverse range of subject matter from artists throughout Victoria. Many organisations encouraged, supported and facilitated this process on behalf of artists attending their programs - Arts Access, Art Unlimited, Noweyung/Colour Gang, GV Centre, Monkami ATSS, Nadrasca ATSS, Northern Support Services, Prahran Mission and the Wintringham Hostel.

Through the presentation of connected exhibitions we support the development of individual creative expression in a mainstream arts context. We are able to successfully link individuals, organisations and communities together and enhance opportunities for emerging and professional artists throughout Victoria. It is significant that this years connected exhibition will reach a broader audience through being presented at Melbourne's Federation Square, contributing to and enriching our community and its cultural activities.

Arts Project Australia represents a vibrant community of visual artists who participate in an innovative studio and exhibitions program. We believe the preservation of the artist's intention is central to the integrity of their work. The work produced by the artists is recognised as belonging to the broad spectrum of contemporary art practice and is exhibited at the Arts Project Australia gallery, commercial galleries and special events; locally, nationally and internationally.

State Trustees assists the financial independence and responsibilities of over 8000 Victorians living with mental illness or intellectual disability. Everyday they see the challenges their clients face to manage their daily responsibilities and strive to help them reach their individual potential.
