Home Sweet Home: Works from the Peter Fay Collection

9 July 2005 - 18 September 2005

Venue: Dunedin Public Art Gallery, New Zealand
Opening: 9 July 2005

Peter Fay has collected a number of artworks produced by artists attending the Arts Project Australia studio, and a selection of these works are included in this inspiring exhibition.

To enter into Home Sweet Home: Works from the Peter Fay Collection is to enter into a sense of adventure. This exciting show of predominantly Australian and New Zealand contemporary art provides the opportunity for new ways of thinking about inventive displays and approaches to collecting art. The exhibition is, as the title suggests, about art that comes from a domestic environment and examines the way the idea of 'home' and by extension, our hearts and minds, can be transformed by art.

There are some 240 works in the show, in a wide range of media - painting, drawing, photography, video, domestic-scale sculpture and objects.

This is a National Gallery of Australia Travelling Exhibition and artists represented from APA include: Alvaro Alvarez, John Bates, Peter Ben, Dorothy Berry, Antonella Calvano, Leo Cussen, Jimmy Fuller, Brigid Hanrahan, Miles Howard-Wilks, Anne Lynch, Wayne Marnell, Chris Mason, John Northe, Steven Perrette, Robin Plowman, Lisa Reid and Timothy Williams.

Arts Project Australia would like to thank Peter Fay for all the support he gives Arts Project Australia and his commitment to the artists attending the studio program.
