The Neverending Story – Dragon in space
Jodie Noble’s art practice is multi-disciplinary, with a focus on figurative painting and representation. Her work is descriptive, expressive and infused with a sense of physicality. Noble often references popular culture, and is inspired by TV characters, movie stars and famous figures, such as Frida Kahlo, Queen Elizabeth II and Dame Edna. Noble has a strong penchant towards developing collections of work that are autobiographical in nature. Jodie Noble (born 1981) has been a regular studio artist at Arts Project Australia since 2001, and presented her first solo exhibition at Arts Project Australia in 2003 and again in 2011. She has been included in numerous group exhibitions including, Melbourne Art Fair, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne (2004, 2006, 2008 & 2014), ‘Patrick Francis and Friends, Robin Gibson Gallery, Sydney (2015) and Pearls of Arts Project Australia: The Stuart Purves Collection, National touring exhibition (2007-2009). Her work is held in private collections throughout Australia.
