Peter Cave is an emerging artist whose paintings present a distinctive style within a realist tradition. His process is methodical and often draws on traditional subjects such as land or seascapes. The resulting artworks present a slightly quirky take on familiar Australian scenes. Peter Cave (born 1957) has been attending the Arts Project Australia Studio since 2007 and presented his first solo exhibition at Sunshine Art Spaces Gallery, Sunshine in 2013. He has been included in numerous group exhibitions including, ‘Likeness’, Town Hall Gallery, Hawthorn Arts Centre, Hawthorn; Melbourne Art Fair, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne; ‘The Exquisite Palette’, St. Luke Artist Colourmen, Collingwood; and ‘A Postcard from Afar: North Korea from a Distance’, Apexart, New York. His work is held in the Leeuwin Estate collection as well as other private collections throughout Australia.
