Paul Quick is a finalist in the 2022 Heysen Prize for landscape.
Heysen Prize for Landscape is a contemporary art prize established in 1997 to commemorate the life and work of the internationally renowned, artist, Sir Hans Heysen (1877-1968).
Paul Quick is an emerging artist working with pastel, acrylic, ink, and paint pen. His practice has similar qualities to neo-expressionism in the seemingly rough handling of materials, resulting in expressive mark-making. The work is further individualised by the inclusion of erratic text, providing layered messaging.
The Finalists’ artworks will be on display at the Hahndorf Academy from 19 November to 22 January 2023.
