Conners Conners Gallery | Ceramic pipes, socks and globular, bumpy, suggestive objects

APA’s Alan Constable and Lisa Reid are showing a selection of ceramic works at Conners Conners Gallery as part of group show Ceramic pipes, socks and globular, bumpy, suggestive objects. The starting point for this exhibition is the Funk Art Movement in San Francisco during the 1960s, which had ceramics as a key aspect. The movement was a reaction against the dominance of Abstract Expressionism with a focus on a gestural, figurative and animated approach to making. Participating artists alongside Alan and Lisa are Angela Brennan, Ara Dolation, Glenn Barkley, Jenny Orchard, Mechelle Bounpraseuth, Pie Rankine and Pip Ryan.
