Opening Saturday 17 June from 3-5pm – and continuing until 22 July – is Ian Gold Solo. Ian Gold‘s abstract paintings echo the rhythm and repetition of his process. His bold layering of rich colours creates depth and texture within his paintings, often revealing text or figures upon closer inspection. Drawing inspiration from subjects that excite his curiosity, Gold’s work often alludes to popular culture, animals and the St Kilda Saints. With a penchant for abstract forms and hidden references, Ian Gold Solo is Gold’s first solo exhibition at Arts Project Australia.
Ian Gold Solo will be launched by Mayor, Cr Kim Le Cerf and will coincide with group exhibition Girt by Sea, which is curated by the Northcote Penguins and assisted by Suzanne Brown and Camille Hannah.
