J. Martin | Dobell Prize


Julian Martin has been selected as a finalist in the Dobell Drawing Prize, as well as being chosen to be part of the regional tour of the prize. Since 2019, the National Art School has partnered with the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation to produce the Dobell Drawing Prize, a new iteration of the Dobell Prize which ran between 1993 and 2012. The biennial prize is the leading drawing exhibition in Australia and celebrates technical skill, innovation and expanded definitions of drawing. The $30,000 acquisitive prize will be awarded at the opening of the finalists’ exhibition at NAS Gallery on 25 March 2021. The exhibition then runs until 22 May 2021 before touring regionally until 2023.
 

The exhibition of selected work will travel to the following venues:

  • Gosford Art Gallery 17 July – 12 September 2021
  • Logan Art Gallery 3 December 2021 – 22 January 2022
  • Bank Art Museum Moree 20 February – 13 April 2022
  • Cowra Regional Art Gallery 25 June – 14 August 2022
  • Griffith Regional Art Gallery 26 August – 23 October 2022
  • Bega Valley Regional Gallery November 2022 – January 2023
