Whatever You Love, You Are explores personal identity through ideas and ideals surrounding companionship, partnership and intimacy. Taking conventional notions of romantic love as the departure point, the group show explores the broader ‘metaphysics of love’ and devotion, whether between soul mates, best friends or family, and what this means for us.
Curated by Suzanne Brown and Anna-Maria O’Keeffe, the exhibition brings together Arts Project studio artists to reflect upon the loves and ‘likes’ recurrent in each artists’ oeuvre.
Featuring works by: Steven Ajzenberg, Dionne Canzano, Valerio Ciccone, Boris Cipusev, Spenser Coombe, Michelle Coulson, Katie Foster, Martin Forster, Cameron Gresswell, Brigid Hanrahan, Paul Hodges, Miles Howard-Wilks, Rahki James, Adrian Lazarro, Anne Lynch, Danny Lyons, Chris Mason, Will Murray, Joanne Nethercote, Nhan Nguyen, Daniel Pace, Simon Paredes, Anthony Romagnano, Adrian Salvatore, Mark Smith, Cathy Staughton, Georgia Szmerling, Amani Tia and Lachlan Turk, amongst others.
Coinciding with Whatever You Love, You Are is Kaye McDonald’s solo exhibition Lines and Colours.
