Body Love – Life Drawing and Stitching

Join us in the gallery for a life-drawing and textile based workshop responding to our current exhibition exploring the female figure.

Explore the boundaries of textiles through this project-based workshop. Participants will be introduced to the expanded/multi-disciplinary practices of Ema Shin and Lisa Reid as they facilitate conversation and creation.

The session will begin with a life-drawing component with a nude model, and move on to translate these sketches onto fabric. Participants will then stitch and reimagine these bodies through freestyle embroidery to create a fabric figure, embellished and adorned with a variety of materials.

This workshop is open to all skill levels though does require the use of some sharp objects. Please note also that the life drawing model will be nude.

Join us for this unique opportunity to explore new skills and art making in a hands-on capacity. Materials, nibbles and tea provided.
