Michael Trasancos (b 1972, Melbourne) predominantly works in acrylic paint and frequently portrays a fascination with Australian culture, often drawing from souvenir calendars. Trasancos’ subject matter often features Australian landscapes, native animals and ‘Aussie Rules’ football. His playful, brightly coloured paintings are expressive in style and sometimes incorporate text. Michael Trasancos has been attending the Arts Project Australia studio since 2004. He has exhibited at Melbourne Art Fair, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne (2014, 2012), Robin Gibson Gallery, Sydney (2015), and Linden Centre for Contemporary Art, St Kilda (2013).
