Simon Paredes is an emerging artist working primarily in pencil on paper. His drawings centre on architecture, domestic objects and retro consumer products. In Paredes’ compositions, isolated objects positioned against flat planes of colour echo the visual language of graphic design, with familiar logos and typefaces reworked into his own signature sans serif typography. Frequently developed in series, the works function as inventories of contemporary life, forming an archive of the Anthropocene and its visual culture.
