Rebecca Scibilia is a Melbourne-based abstract artist working across paper and canvas. Her practice draws on popular culture, personal interests, travel and everyday imagery, transforming familiar references into vibrant, expressive compositions. Working with acrylic paint and bold markers, she builds layered arrangements of colour, form and energetic mark-making. Text and humour are central to her work, with phrases integrated into the image to create playful associations and unexpected connections between words and visual forms. Through this interplay, Scibilia brings a distinctive sensibility to the familiar, balancing spontaneity, vivid colour and wit.
