Molica Silk is an emerging artist who joined Arts Project Australia in 2023. Her work is personal and semi-autobiographical, drawing inspiration from her favourite foods, places, and memories. Through her art, Molica captures the essence of these moments, blending them into intimate reflections of her life.
Molica’s creative process begins with delicate grey pencil drawings, which she then overlays with ink. The translucency of the ink allows the subtle details of the underlying sketches to shine through, creating a layered effect that invites the viewer to explore both the visible and the hidden aspects of her work.
Recently, Molica has been expanding her practice to include embroidery.
