Cameron Gresswell worked primarily with acrylic and pastel on paper.
His vibrant, music-inspired works often featured lyrics, band names, and artists’ titles cascading across the composition, frequently anchored by two brightly coloured vinyl records. These dynamic elements gave the impression of a bird’s-eye view of a mixing deck in motion, capturing the energy and rhythm of sound through visual form. Gresswell joined Arts Project Australia (APA) in 2016 and remained a dedicated studio artist until his passing in 2025. Over the years, he participated in numerous group exhibitions with APA, most recently in Devoted To You (2025) at the APA gallery at Collingwood Yards. His work was also featured in exhibitions at venues such as Kings Artist-Run and the biennial art fair, Spring1883. Internationally, his practice reached new audiences through shows like Flying Postcards (2019) at i-dArt in Hong Kong.
Gresswell’s art is held in private collections. He is remembered as a brilliant colourist and avid music collector whose works transformed his personal vinyl archive into a reflection on the art of collecting.
