Emily Dober is an emerging multi-disciplinary artist whose practice blends painting, illustration and collage.
Grounded in her interest in the female form as it appears in visual culture, Dober’s practice moves fluidly between figuration and abstraction. Her paintings often begin with drawn outlines or visual cues, which dissolve through layers of brushwork into more intuitive compositions. Her surfaces build a quiet intensity through subtle shifts in tone and movement. Dober has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2010 and held her first solo exhibition in 2017. She has exhibited nationally and internationally with her works held in private collections throughout Australia.
