Fiona Longhurst is an established artist whose work is characterised by a considered use of colour, intricate patterning, and layered compositional structures.
Often incorporating hand-drawn text, her imagery reflects a dynamic interplay between gesture and control, density and space. Her practice draws affinities with the tradition of automatic drawing, allowing forms to unfold through fluid mark-making and sustained visual exploration.
Longhurst has worked at Arts Project Australia since 1991 and presented her first solo exhibition at Arts Projects Australia in 2019.
