Apply now for the APA Guest Residency Program
In 2026 we are proud to launch the APA Guest Residency Program, supported by a two year grant from The Ian Potter Foundation.
Open to artists and curators who live in Victoria, the Guest Residency Program will offer three paid creative residencies in 2026:
- Guest artist-in-residence 1 (June to November 2026)
- Guest artist-in-residence 2 (November 2026 to May 2027)
- Guest curator-in-residence (August 2026 to August 2027)
Each guest artist-in-residence will be provided with a fee of $15,000 for the 6 month residency.
The guest curator-in-residence will be provided with a fee of $30,000 for the 12 month residency.
The APA Guest Residency Program offers an inspiring environment for guest artists and curators to engage in creative dialogue with APA artists. While APA regularly collaborates with curators, artists and designers, this residency program will be the first time we have created space within our studio for prolonged creative exchange. The goals of this program are:
- to deepen the engagement between APA artists and their peers in the art sector
- to foster creative excellence and quality art-making in the studio.
Applications open: 2 March 2026
