Miles Howard-Wilks exhibiting in the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts.

Arts Project is proud to share that APA artist Miles Howard-Wilks will be featured in the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts – The Oracle: On Fantasy and Freedom.

The Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts is one of the oldest biennials in the world, founded in 1955. This edition, led by renowned curator, lecturer and researcher Chus Martínez, draws on the ancient concept of the oracle as a place where we encounter the future, with artists exploring the power of imagination to renew our belief in freedom and solidarity, and care for a peaceful coexistence.

For its 36th iteration, APA artist Miles Howard-Wilks responds with a presentation of 10 large works on paper featuring iconic Australian animals such as magpies, sharks, crocodiles and black and white striped fish living harmoniously in surreal utopic landscapes and seascapes.

Miles Howard-Wilks is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, ceramics, photography, digital media, and zine-making. His vibrant works often depict surreal landscapes and seascapes, brought to life with recurring imagery of Australian animals, landmarks and transport. An APA studio artist since 2000, Howard-Wilks has held three solo exhibitions and is represented in major public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the City of Melbourne, as well as in private collections around the world.
