Matthew Lam works predominantly with gouache and ink on paper, creating abstract depictions of animals, people and places of interest. His use of a contrasting colour palette and central focal points evokes the sensibilities of nature photography and portraiture. Lam is particularly skilled at capturing suspended movement and fleeting moments making his work feel as though they are snapshots seen through the lens of a camera.
