In his abstracted drawings, Christian Semertzidis captures the dynamism of familiar historical paintings and action photography. His crosshatched drawing style amplifies the physicality of performers and iconic sports moments, as well as revives static paintings from art history. Semertzidis predominately works with coloured pencil on black rag paper, adding to the drama inherent in his works.
