With a career spanning over 30 years, Valerio Ciccone works primarily through drawing, with an ongoing interest in ceramics and animation. Creating predominantly figurative works, Ciccone employs his idiosyncratic and fluid style to depict subjects ranging from portraits, animals, still life scenes, AFL stars and pop culture icons. Valerio Ciccone has been a regular studio artist at Arts Project Australia since 1984 and has presented three solo exhibitions; one at Arts Project Australia (1999) and two at Pinacotheca (1994 and 1996). He has been included in numerous group exhibitions at Spring 1883, Moree Plains Gallery, Albury Regional Gallery, Tamworth Regional Gallery, Muswellbrook Regional Gallery and Western Plains Cultural Centre. His works are held by the Australian Gallery of Sport Permanent Collection, MADMusée Permanent Collection, National Gallery of Victoria Collection (as gifted by Stuart Purves) and the National Gallery of Australia, Print archive.
