Nhan Nguyen

Utilising strong drawing skills and working predominantly with inks and watercolour, Nhan Nguyen builds increasingly complex narrative layers from simple imagery.

His sources of inspiration range from landscapes and animals to urban environments. Nguyen’s art practice demonstrates an uncanny ability to extract the nuances and idiosyncrasies of his subject matter, distilling the poetic from the everyday. Nhan Nguyen (born 1981) has been an Arts Project Australia studio artist since 2008. He has been included in numerous group exhibitions including, Melbourne Art Fair, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne (2010 & 2012), Linden Postcard Show, Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts, St Kilda and SMALLWORKS 2014 Art Prize, Brunswick Street Gallery, Fitzroy (2014).
