Figures from Life

Figures from Life brings together a collection of works created during Arts Project Australia’s in-house life drawing sessions. These sessions, offered without formal instruction, invite artists to engage freely with the human form – guided not by rules or tradition, but by instinct, imagination and personal vision.

The exhibition showcases the incredible diversity of expression that arises when artists are empowered to follow their own paths. From Jenny Ngo’s expressive Fursona series, which blends identity and fantasy, to Peter Ben’s strikingly distorted figures that challenge conventional anatomy, each work offers a unique interpretation of what it means to see—and to represent—the human body.

Featuring works by Amani Tia, Chris Mason, Georgia Szmerling, Hugo Sierakowski, Jenny Ngo, Jordan Dymke, Josef Power, Lisa Reid, Mark Smith, Matthew Gove, Miles Howard-Wilks, Oscar Donati, Paul Hodges, Peter Ben, Rakhi James, Rebecca Scibilia, Samantha Ashdown, and Valerio Ciccone.

Please note this show is at the Northcote Project Space, located in Arts Project Australia’s studio in Northcote, not the Collingwood Yards Gallery.
