Rosie O’Brien’s practice spans painting, digital animation, and textiles. Her work draws inspiration from botany, reimagining plant forms through vibrant palettes, rhythmic patterning, and a sense of delicate intimacy. In her paintings, O’Brien often depicts flowers in bold colours set against luminous grounds, with sparse compositions that emphasise clarity and space. Her textile works, meanwhile, transform fabric into layered, sculptural forms, highlighting her sensitive and observant approach to colour and material.
O’Brien joined Arts Project Australia in 2015. She has exhibited in group exhibitions at Arts Project Australia and Seventh Gallery, Melbourne, and in 2024 co-curated and featured in 50 Birds, an exhibition presented as part of Arts Project Australia’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Her work is held in private collections in Australia.
